Climate change is a threat to people and the ecosystem services on which we depend. Even without climate change, standard development practices are putting people and communities at risk. The report of ASLA's interdisciplinary Blue Ribbon Panel on Climate Change and Resilience is a call to action and an invitation to collaboration.

This course identifies the most critical planning- and design-based approaches for creating healthy, climate-smart, and resilient communities, along with specific public policy recommendations to support those approaches. Recommendations cover natural systems, community development, vulnerable communities, transportation, and agriculture, and are applicable to communities of all sizes and in all regions.
