This mobile tour explores the historical context of the transformation of the Boston Seaport District's abandoned docks and sprawling parking lots into a built-from-scratch multi-use neighborhood and a symbol of "global" Boston. The Seaport District reflects issues connected to globalization, including economic development through the innovation sectors, socioeconomic inequality, tourism, and urban design that resembles districts in other "global cities." Developers, citizen activists, cultural entrepreneurs, and public officials discuss the issues.
