FLUM Fundamentals

Planners generally agree the future land use map is a critical component of any comprehensive plan—less so when it comes to the specifics of how the map should look and function. Explore the ins and outs of various approaches. Land use plans can help or — inadvertently — hinder equity. Speakers highlight strategies for promoting more equitable land-use decisions. Examples include encouraging the retention and adaptation of existing affordable housing stock and establishing a basis for protective regulations.

This Fundamental Planning Knowledge Session will cover the following Core Competency: Plan Making: Plan formulation & adoption.
