Solutions from the Housing Supply Accelerator Partnership

Course Details

The nation continues to confront a housing crisis. Recent APA-supported research on housing underproduction found that the problem affects every state and is only increasing. Policymakers at all levels of government are looking to planners to find solutions and advance reforms that can improve regulatory and permitting systems. At the same time, the challenges go deeper and include finance, construction, workforce, and economic shifts. APA and the National League of Cities have engaged with the National Homebuilders Association, the National Association of Realtors, and the Mortgage Bankers Association in a special partnership initiative, the Housing Supply Accelerator.

After convening experts, stakeholders, and community leaders for the past year, the Accelerator has produced a playbook for communities and policymakers that provides ideas and options for tackling these complex problems. Leaders from these organizations will discuss potential solutions, policy recommendations, their perspectives on housing policy and planning, and their commitments to helping communities and planners tackle one of today's most significant challenges.

Hear how this unusual coalition can support planning, policy reforms, and housing solutions and what will come next from the Housing Supply Accelerator.
