Greatest Hits from the High Court
Course Details
Three law school professors and a practicing planner/lawyer with a total of over 150 years of experience in land use law, all of whom have filed briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court, will provide a perceptive and comprehensive view of what the High Court decided last Term and what to expect from the Court.
This panel will not only provide foundational knowledge but translate the decisions into a takeaway, practical guidance for the day-to-day work of planners who necessarily must apply the law in their work. The Court's decisions and their application in practice have a great impact, for better and for worse, on equity and inclusion.
The course describes how to leverage the best of these decisions to advance social, economic, and racial equity, and will provide advice on how to minimize the adverse impacts.
