This course will describe how the City of Minneapolis staff, community stakeholders, and the Center for Energy and Environment collaborated to create a roadmap to decarbonize Minneapolis' 1-4 unit residential housing stock to achieve its climate goals. This roadmap considers implementation and operational costs, workforce needs, geographic and social equity, and land use and policy implications, creating a foundation for City decision-makers to develop an informed climate action budget.
We will share how to leverage existing demographic and building data to facilitate data-driven decision-making and the value of participatory processes that promote collective problem-solving and generate community buy-in.
