Adrian Freund, FAICP, is Principal of FA-Northwest Planning in Beaverton, Oregon. Adrian has 45 years of experience in leading planning and environmental agencies. He previously served as the CD Director, Washoe County, Nevada and member of the Lake Tahoe Interagency Executives; Planning/Environmental Director, Louisville, KY; Water Bureau Chief, Connecticut DEP; Resource Management Director, Austin, TX; Water Quality Director Madison/Dane County. He is past Planning Section Chief for a Regional EOC and developed Wildland Urban Interface and seismic zone codes. Adrian is a past APA Director and Chapter President for Wisconsin and Nevada. He worked on development and environmental codes for Madison, Austin, Long Island Sound, Louisville (an early form-based metro area code), Washoe County and Lake Tahoe, Adrian worked with APA and the Congress on reauthorization of the Clean Water and Coastal Zone Management Acts. Adrian has spoken frequently on wildfire planning to APA, NACO and other groups for over 13 years. He also consults on entitlements for large-scale solar energy facilities.
