Skip Ariel Ben-Amos

Ariel Ben-Amos

Ariel Ben-Amos is a city planner for the City of Philadelphia. Ariel helped launch the City's Pedestrian Plaza and Parklet programs as well as its Complete Streets and Transit First initiatives. He currently serves as a coordinator and liaison between the Philadelphia Water Department''s Office of Watersheds and SEPTA, the Streets Department, the PPA and other agencies. Ben-Amos works to ensure that green stormwater management infrastructure is integrated in Philadelphia's transportation infrastructure investments.

Ariel's served in the Peace Corps (Albania) and on numerous non-profit boards within Philadelphia (from the Gershman Y to Bartram's Gardens), working to promote arts and culture in the city's neighborhoods. He is both a graduate and instructor at the University of Pennsylvania, teaching both at his under graduate program (Urban Studies) and in the School of Design's program (City and Regional Planning).
